I’ve been trying to give myself a detox from standard pop music (which will probably only last about 3 more hours). Thanks to the help of the internet I’ve hit that point where every other song that I’m hearing is in Spanish and I want nothing more than to be a DJ. I don’t think I’d be all that great at it, but it’s fun to imagine. Happy New Year to you all!
I hope you all have had quite the lovely holiday season this year! I spent today avoiding ovens and other useful cooking appliances before finally sitting down for a nice meal with my family. Most importantly, though, I made my pie!
I feel like I’ve had quite the unproductive day. I literally sat around and did nothing when I really should have been baking a pecan pie. I’ll probably do this post then sit around and do nothing again when I still should be baking a pecan pie. Let it be known, that pie will get baked.
Gah! I apologize for the blurriness of these photos. It was incredibly windy outside when these were taken (my gutter got blown off my roof and is now chillin’ in my front yard along with the lid to my neighbor’s trash can) so I had to have my dad do it for me. As you can probably tell, he doesn’t have the world’s steadiest hands (though I suppose shivering can do that to you.) On the bright side, it actually began to snow last night! It didn’t stick and now it’s quite sunny, but it was fun while it lasted. Good job mother nature!
In about 24 hours I have to take a pre-calculus exam that counts for about 20% of my grade and rather than studying, I chose to go out and frolic in the leaves in my backyard whilst taking photos. My priorities are apparently all wrong.
It’s finally stopped raining in my area! It may have taken about 6 days, but it is finally dry outside again so I decided to celebrate with moccasins, a striped sweater (the best time to wear a striped sweater…is all the time), and brand new tea. Sorry my outfit’s kind of boring today, though. I’m in the midst of testing right now and then I have exams next week so I like to dress smart in hopes that my body will absorb the intelligence of my outfit. Plus, sweaters are a nice way to feel cozy without having to wear sweats.
Hello everyone! Today I made an interesting closet discovery, in which I realized that I do not own any sort of Christmas or winter themed sweater ( 😦 ). So, I decided what better way to get over the fact that I don’t own a Christmas sweater or the money to buy one, than to do a Christmas sweater style nail art that I found online here. It’s lovely right? Yeah, I’m right. Gotta love that reindeer.
I’m feel like I’ve been rolling around in a bucket full of patterns today. Floral, stripes, and the subtle arrows in the tights, I think I’m really going for it for the full 9 yards today. Bright colors make for a bright day! And by bright day, I mean I’m putting off setting up interviews for my imaginary community project and creating source cards (I’m currently in the middle of having violent thought towards the creator(s) of MLA web citations) for the accompanying paper. It’s all good though, seeing as avoidance has led to me getting some Christmas shopping done and buying a new pair of socks.
