Flower Power Forever

Floral on floral on floral on floral. I’m super excited for fall, but it’s still fairly warm outside in the southern United States, so I decided to momentarily embrace those vibes while I still can and pair together this ensemble. I’m no stranger to floral print and floral print amplified in my outfit is always a plus. In that spirit I paired this somewhat ornately illustrated floral print blouse with my antique style floral print overall dress. I skipped accessories this time around because the top and skirt make enough of a statement on their own for now, but who knows. I may revisit this look again and go floral print Xtreme.100_4482new 100_4485new

Winter Florals

I don’t want to believe that I’m on a floral print kick, but I think I might be on a floral print kick. Luckily, I only own about 4 or 5 articles of clothing that are decked out in beautiful flowers, but my floral print backpack that I need to use for class might turn up as the factor that’s holding me back. It does add a nice contrast to poor weather, though. No matter how much bleak and chilly it is outside, I will always have a little piece of sunny spring day with me everywhere I go. It really can’t get better than that.

Tinseltown

100_2800

This dress represents a couple of firsts for me, the main one being the first item that I’ve ever purchased from Kohl’s. Apparently, I’m very late in the game on shopping there in comparison to the rest of my friend group in shopping there as it proved itself to be the perfect statement to use in games of “never have I ever”.

I personally don’t “get” the store. I don’t understand Kohl’s, but a giftcard for the store recently fell into my hands as a graduation present from my mom and, after going through the website, I was immediately drawn to this dress (i.e. my first “bib” dress). The floral print was so bold and kind of Lana Del Rey-esque and I was immediately into it. I still don’t understand Kohl’s, but I do understand my love for this dress.

Bathed in Blue

I generally can’t be bothered for going for even a mildly monochromatic look, but after putting on this t-shirt I was really feeling the vibes. I decided to touch it up with my somewhat new gold necklace from Forever 21 (which you may have seen in my last post) and my spring favorite, floral print. I felt nice and comfortable all day and hopefully those good feelings will carry over into later in the week when I have to take a few AP exams. Wish me luck!100_2741 100_2750

Casual Sundays

Long time no blogging guys! I’d like to say that I’ve been super busy and that has kept me away from posting (which is only true for this week, since I was away in Nashville for the greater portion of it and am trying to catch up with my school work now), but I’ve really just been overall lazy and of the impression that none of my outfits were nice enough to necessitate me posting them. Fortunately, I’m feeling good about this one and am embracing my love for spring florals after purchasing a very lovely pink, floral bow headband from Forever 21. I decided to embrace the whole theme and girliness of the piece be wearing it with my floral jeans as well and can confidently say that I feel like a beautiful flower. I am now of the opinion that this headband will definitely turn out to be my go-to spring piece, which makes me wonder, what is your go-to spring piece? 100_2561 100_2563

Rose

March weather fluctuates too fast for me to handle. I wore this outfit a couple of days ago when it was in the low 20s to mid 30s and now its nearly 70 degrees outside. My clothes can barely keep up with these changes. On the bright side, though, I do like that I was able to pull in some bright, springy colors into this outfit and carry a little bit of the upcoming season with me in the lovely roses on my sweater! They actually remind me a bit of the roses that grow in my backyard, only with less wasps and bees hanging around!100_2516 100_2513

What’s your favorite thing about spring?

Joy Blue

I swear it’s like I’m wearing super pants. They look like pants, fit like jeggings, and feel like a pair of soft sweatpants, which makes them perfect for a sample back to school outfit. I cannot wait until fall rolls around and I can wear them with a snuggly oversized sweater and some warm boots! It’s easy enough to assume that these are probably my second favorite item in my closet with my number one being my new floral backpack.

Anthem

I generally don’t consider myself a very patriotic person, but in true American nature, I always like to think of the 4th of July as a time to burst out in song and dance about how much I love my country. Unfortunately, it rained all morning which lead to all festivities being cancelled, so I had to celebrate this great nation’s birth the only way I knew how: listening to Lana Del Rey, eating white chocolate covered pretzels, and watching an entire season of Community. I sat on my bed in my 2009 American flag t-shirt enjoying all of the first world comforts that have come to represent my people and it was beautiful. And then I went outside and played with some mild explosive type things as 4 people in my neighborhood competed to see who could have the best fireworks show. It was a level of fabulosity that could only be properly brought to a close by pulling together this floral number here that has nothing to do with patriotism at all. Lovely.100_1905 100_1901

Hello Mother Nature

“Hello Mother Nature” said the guy in my U.S. history class when I sat down next to him wearing my floral print jeans and new flower garnished hand band (one of two things that I bought while I was away at my competition) on Friday. Little did I know that if my life was a novel, that compliment could be considered foreshadowing seeing as Mother Nature showed up while I was at school because the temperature rose from the 30 something degrees it had been when I left to a very sunny 72. My sweater went from being functional and cozy to out of place and irritating while the headband went from being stylish to artistically functional.100_1153 100_1158

Stripes

I’m feel like I’ve been rolling around in a bucket full of patterns today. Floral, stripes, and the subtle arrows in the tights, I think I’m really going for it for the full 9 yards today. Bright colors make for a bright day! And by bright day, I mean I’m putting off setting up interviews for my imaginary community project and creating source cards (I’m currently in the middle of having violent thought towards the creator(s) of MLA web citations) for the accompanying paper. It’s all good though, seeing as avoidance has led to me getting some Christmas shopping done and buying a new pair of socks.12
