3 Ways to Style Graphic T-Shirts

Hello, all! I feel like I haven’t worn my good ol’ Nirvana t-shirt in ages (or at least, worn it in an outfit that actually made it onto the blog)! I feel like all of the me’s from my other ootd’s were missing it, so I decided, why not bring that piece of fabulous-ness back, but bring it back bigger and better than before. Then I asked myself “how, do I do that?” Answer: Compose 3 outfits instead of one! Is it original?: no. Did I do it anyway?: Most definitely!

Backyard Stripes

Hello, all! Today I continue with my love for all within the overall family with this dazzlin’ overall dress. If you’ve checked me out on my YouTube or Instagram then you may already be acquainted with this lovely piece of sewn together fabric, but if you don’t and are a little late, well, then welcome to the party. I picked this dress up from Rainbow and was drawn to the subtle stripes within the denim. I wanted to play with that a bit by pairing it with a less subtle chevron print top. It all makes for a nice casual and playful combo.

The Comfiest in the Gloomiest

It has been fairly rainy and gloomy outside today leading to me spending most of the day dry and indoors. On days like these I gravitate towards looser clothes and large cardigan and sweaters. At the end of the day though, I still like to be decked out in fun prints and colors. I got the best of both worlds with these shorts and have been enjoying them since I put them on.

Pineapple Party

Hello all and happy Thursday! If you have checked out my new YouTube channel, you would have seen that I’ve recently posted up a clothing haul which includes this lovely gem of a scarf I have on right now. I’m not a huge scarf person, but lightweight and printed infinity scarves are a great summer accessory. They’re light enough to keep you from catching on fire in the summer sun and you get an easy way to play around with prints and colors. I paired this one with a pair of shortalls (because shortalls = life), a simple black tank, and these tennis shoes I picked up last night.100_3954 100_3951

NYX Avant Pop: Nouveau Chic Palette – Review

Hello all!

100_3904new

A few weeks ago I did a review of one of the 3 palettes from NYX’s Avant Pop line and today I have a review of the Nouveau Chic palette. I’m a huge fan of palettes with neutral and matte shades in them, so when I saw this one I proceeded to make all of my ugly-pleased faces at it through my laptop screen before promptly clicking that buy button. These retail for $17 and my review on my last Avant Pop post includes all of the information for getting a discount from the NYX website. Now the palettes are available from Ulta for $16.99 and are buy 1, get 1 50% off until June 27th.

Here are all 10 shades:

Sadly, none of the shadows in this palette have their own names so I gave them all numbers. All 10 shades are incredibly pigmented and feel very smooth. Even the matte shades are still soft to touch, except for shade 8 which feels kind of hard but is still incredibly pigmented and blendable. I did experience some fallout during the application of these shades, but that is not a deal breaker for me.

I also am very pleased with the color selection within this palette. It has a nice combination of target spring colors with all of the purples and even some fun peach tones (shades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7) and will transfer well into the fall which are primarily concentrated on the right side of the palette (shades 5, 9, and 10). It also has a nice balance of neutral and fun shades meaning that it’s easy to turn to when you don’t have time to use 70,000 colors to make a look and you can still turn to it when you do.

Sample Look:

Overall, I think this is an accessible palette. I’m not the biggest fan of the texture and consistency of shade 8 , but all of the shades are pigmented and very blendable. There are shimmery shades, shades with more of a sheen to them, and mattes which is a combination I look for in a palette. I think it’s a good palette for people who are transitioning between completely neutral palettes, but you don’t want to go all out with crazy colors like with the Art Throb palette. The shades are fun but completely wearable.
