As you all can probably tell from the fact that I have made yet another post with the word “spring” in the title, I am very excited to delve into the new season! Strangely enough, this outfit does contrast with my general perception of “spring vibes,” because it includes a lot of more muted tones instead of bright splashes of color or soft pastels. I played on that conflict by pairing a sweater that I usually get the most use out of in the spring with the deeper reds, olive, and leather presented in the rest of the ensemble. All together it created a very muted spring look.
Today I had the pleasure of starting my day off with an exam and decided to bring some spring cheer with me while I tested. I buttoned up my soft blue blouse (because shirts with buttons say that I’m ready for business) and threw on my trusty Girl Scout cardigan and allowed the power of spring and female encouragement to take me through those 50 minutes of sadness. I also wore a pair of sneakers for the first time in at least 3 months. They’ve got happy pandas on them, but when I made them I did not use permanent markers or fabric markers so the blue from the clouds above them has began running into their eyes. Now they look like the pandas are doing some weird type of reverse crying, but that is okay because who hasn’t ever had a nice reverse cry?
I generally can’t be bothered for going for even a mildly monochromatic look, but after putting on this t-shirt I was really feeling the vibes. I decided to touch it up with my somewhat new gold necklace from Forever 21 (which you may have seen in my last post) and my spring favorite, floral print. I felt nice and comfortable all day and hopefully those good feelings will carry over into later in the week when I have to take a few AP exams. Wish me luck!
Also, the lovely Yvonne Ben from The Kaleidoscope is having a giveaway, so feel free to check that out and maybe pick up some cool free stuff!
I rarely ever wear scarves just for general accessory purposes rather than neck warmth, but it’s Easter and the color of this scarf greatly reminded me of an Easter egg so I decided to nick it from my mom for the day (which seems to be something that I do with a lot of her clothing). I feel like it adds a nice dash of color and is very subtly thematic which is perfect for the type of laid back and chill Easter that I plan to have today. That being said, I decided to go for a first today, and introduce a casual and a more dressed up version of the outfit which also has a bit of a sneak peek of a piece for my prom look which you all will see either next Sunday or the following Monday. Have a happy Sunday! 🙂
It’s that time of the year again! Exam season (or, it is at least in my area)! You guys know what exams mean: a free pass to dress as comfy and bummish as you want without having to face criticism from everyone around you because ‘everybody’s doing it.’ Mind you that is a terrible excuse for doing anything, even something clothing related, but none-the-less, I dressed for comfort. I broke out one of my snuggliest sweaters and my trusty moccasins and tested until I could test no more! But don’t fret my friends! I rewarded myself with a nice long nap the moment it was over! 🙂
Lace on lace is slowly becoming one of my new favorite things. I tried for a casual look with it today, toning down the fanciness of the blazer and the top with a pair of sneakers that I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to start wearing again (they’re modeled after these shoes here). It’s like I’m wearing spring on my feet!
Long flowy skirts never fail to give me massive bohemian vibes. That being said, I’m not that much of a full-on of bohemian fan as far as my own clothes go, so I decided to throw on a trusty pair of chucks and a t-shirt that took far too long to tie in the front (I literally spent 10 minutes trying figure out how to do it). I like to keep things cool and breezy. 🙂
Happy Sunday everybody! It’s always been a dream of mine to be able to pull off the afro look and, seeing as I had just washed my hair, yesterday seemed as good a day as any to start (i.e. I was feeling really lazy after washing my hair and decided to let it air dry). I was feeling some serious vibes from the fro, guys. I almost thought I was going to travel back in time to experience some disco fever. Then I remembered that this was a time in which there was no home internet service or computers, so I decided to play it safe and stay in 2013. Nothing’s better than a good old afro, internet connection, and neon green sweater.
That was an admittedly terrible haiku that I wrote whilst basking in the loveliness that is the current spring weather. My first days of spring were admittedly quite cold (it snowed for the first 3 or 4 days of my spring break), but now the weather has taken a turn for the better, leading me in with open arms for the loveliness that is my second favorite season. Spring, I accept you into my heart and shall treasure you, even if that means suffering through the panic that is tornado warnings. I show you my eternal love through my sunny yellow pants that are almost as bright as the rays you cast upon this earth.
*I’m feeling quite poetic today, as you may have been able to tell. I think I am experiencing the ‘spring fever’.
