It has been fairly rainy and gloomy outside today leading to me spending most of the day dry and indoors. On days like these I gravitate towards looser clothes and large cardigan and sweaters. At the end of the day though, I still like to be decked out in fun prints and colors. I got the best of both worlds with these shorts and have been enjoying them since I put them on.
Hello all and happy Thursday! If you have checked out my new YouTube channel, you would have seen that I’ve recently posted up a clothing haul which includes this lovely gem of a scarf I have on right now. I’m not a huge scarf person, but lightweight and printed infinity scarves are a great summer accessory. They’re light enough to keep you from catching on fire in the summer sun and you get an easy way to play around with prints and colors. I paired this one with a pair of shortalls (because shortalls = life), a simple black tank, and these tennis shoes I picked up last night.
Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today the weather has been a bit unpredictable as it’s swapped from nice and sunny to doom and gloom to nice and sunny again. I’ve combined the water and sun into this outfit with a top that’s ready to beat the heat with a subtle wave pattern in aquatic blues to channel any potential rain into a more summer pool vibe. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite tops, simply because it is so versatile. A couple of weeks ago I dressed it up with a pencil skirt for a job interview and now I’m rocking it with my favorite jeggings for a casual Friday. Who doesn’t love a piece of clothing that’s ready to tackle every event in your life?
It has rained so much in the past week that after over a month of stressing about exhausting my summer clothing collection, I am finally back to wearing sweaters. I am very, very okay with this transition. I am a sweater gal, through and through and nothing pleases me more than being cuddled by the warm embrace of knitwear. Though quite simple, this outfit is giving me life merely because sweaters + skirts are one of my go-to outfit combinations. So thank you sweater and cool weather gods for gracing me with this wonderful opportunity.
Do any of you do that thing where you randomly swap out things in your outfit throughout the day, until it gets to the point where the outfit you change out of to go to bed is nothing like the one you put on in the morning? This is definitely one of those outfits for me. I wore it without the button-down, with the button-down, as a shirt with a pair of jeans, as a shirt with a skirt, and swapped out accessories all within the same day. For some reason, I just could never become satisfied with my styling of this outfit and I do not know why. I can only hope that it is not the start of an outfit rut. 😦
And in other news, I’ve recently started up a YouTube channel in case any of you want to check that bad boy. I’ve got one video up so far and it’s a tutorial from one of the looks created in my review of the Art Throb palette from NYX. I won’t be abandoning this blog though, because this blog is my main squeeze and my #bae, but if you ever want to see me beyond photos, then be sure to visit and subscribe to my channel out!
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you may have noticed a trend: I have no posts that include a pair of casual shorts in the outfit. I have skirts, I have shortalls, and I even have gym shorts; but I did not have any casual/everyday shorts until 3 days ago when I purchased my first pair in 4 years. And I love them! The fabric of them is so light and airy that I feel like I’m wearing a pair of comfy pajama bottoms. Plus, the brightness of the print is an easy way to spruce up an otherwise simple outfit. I was simply testing the water with this pair, but now I think that I’m definitely going to purchase many more!
It is officially my move-out day, so I decided to wear a very fun and easy outfit. And what is more fun and easy than a pair of shortalls? I paired them with a very flowy top for air circulation (got to keep it breathable) and a pair of boots so I can save my toes when I inevitably drop a heavy box on top of them. This also doubles as an awesome festival look. I’m all for a multipurpose outfit.
I’m in the process of packing up and moving at the moment, so this morning I decided to wash my clothes before packing them up. Unfortunately, this was poor planning on my part as I also ended up throwing the outfit that I had planned to wear into the wash as well. And thus, I reached a new low (or perhaps a new high) and decided to just throw a skater skirt on and tuck my pajama top into and pretend that I had gotten fully dressed this morning. Fortunately, the top really turned out to be a quirky addition to an otherwise simple outfit!
This dress is an oldie but a goody that I, for some strange reason, rarely ever use in any OOTD posts. I previously mentioned it as a dress I got for Easter, but as of late, I’ve been wearing it for anything but that occasion. It offers a nice swash of brightness to every outfit, but with little effort since it’s simply a “one-some”. It also is a very nice and soft shade of coral, which is kind of my jam. I threw on one of my favorite cardigans for protection from that cool spring breeze and this outfit became a definite winner in my eyes.
