I may be dressed in what I think is passable as early spring wear but it is undoubtedly winter where I’m at. In fact, I’ve actually just received my first serious snowfall of the winter (which is sad since winter ends in about two weeks) and have consequently been out of school for the past two days. This has left me with many opportunities to snuggle up into cozy cardigans, watch TV (is anyone else excited that we’re rolling into the new season of Bates Motel), look up spring makeup trends (The Frenemy has come in handy for that venture) and pretend to be studying for school. So, in the spirit of my new found I have to bum out and do absolutely nothing of importance, feel free to recommend your favorite TV shows in the comments and I’ll check them out!
I’ve finally conceded to the fact that I’m going to have to start taking photos inside while the weather outside is being all crazy. I’m currently living in my own winter wonderland but instead of being surrounded by snow, there’s ice everywhere. In the meantime I’ve just been hanging out at my house, drinking caramel hot cocoa and reacquainting myself with every sweater I’ve ever purchased. On the bright side, I have discovered a new found anime love in Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) and am currently marathon watching every episode. If you haven’t seen it and you aren’t opposed to some onscreen violence (it gets kind of gore-y at times), I definitely recommend it. It’s great and better than I expected and I’m about to go watch some more episodes as soon as this is posted! 🙂
Seeing as this orange oversized cardigan is my new favorite piece in my closet, you all should be expecting to hear a lot of terrible, horrible pumpkin and Halloween references now. They’ll all probably be incredibly terrible and unoriginal, but I can’t help that I’m a terrible and unoriginal person (okay, I can help that, but I’m too lazy to come up with anything else.) Any who, I decided to attempt a slightly edgier look by pairing the cardigan with the roughest, toughest t-shirt I own (my dad got it from a wrestling match that was taking place where he did security.) Unfortunately, I am not the roughest, toughest person on the block, but for you all, I shall put in the effort. 🙂
I get the feeling that I’m going to spend the rest of my life yearning to be one of those people who can dress appropriately for all four seasons. I can do “seasonal” outfits (hence, why I own a red blazer with black sequin lapels-for the “Christmas season”) and I can dress for spring and fall, but when it comes to dressing for the season I’m in every single day, my mind goes blank. And that, my friends, is why I’m wearing a pumpkin colored cardigan in January. It’s so sad how much I can genuinely appreciate a season and all of the clothes that go with it, but only be able to dress in the fashions of the one before it. It must be all the leaves in my yard influencing my outfit.
